Issue 1 Love Letter from the Editor

Issue 1!!! I honestly can’t believe it’s here, it still doesn’t feel real. I never thought I could do something like start a magazine. Who am I!?

I grew up in Maine, went to college in New Hampshire, and after a few years of living in NH post-graduation, I moved back to Maine and have been here since. My life has been fairly predictable up until this moment. I got married, bought a house, had a kid, got divorced, moved a few times, and then last year was able to purchase my own house, which I am pretty damn proud of.

Last year, as most everyone can relate, I experienced an intense form of pandemic fatigue and left my full-time corporate job to save my mental health. I feel incredibly thankful and privileged to have been able to take the summer off and think about the direction I wanted my life to take.

Towards the end of last year, I formed an LLC for my creative company and have been working with some amazing, inspiring, and badass women. From those experiences, I started to realize that as women (my experience), BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, non-binary people, and creatives/entrepreneur’s (and so much more), we should have a public-facing space where we can share our stories and our joy.

TLDR: This magazine is about and for YOU.

Maine Vibes Magazine is about sharing your stories, experiences, joy, and good vibes with others in a safe, inviting, and inclusive space.

Thank you

- To the women in Issue 1, for your time and for sharing your story

- To everyone who has been following along and waiting for the release of the first issue

- To my family and friends who have been supporting me throughout this last year

I hope you enjoy this first issue! Please reach out to let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for future issues. I look forward to sharing more incredible creatives and entrepreneurs who are doing the most in the state of Maine to increase the diversity, inclusivity, job market, and wellbeing here.
